- Tuesday, February 13, 20241 out of 5Rating 1.0I needed to ship a package after work this week. It was a simple care package to a family member in AZ who is starting chemotherapy on Thursday. I got out of work late yesterday night, but was determined to get my package in route. Since the post office and a local UPS store were closed, I decided to go to FedEx. The staff member was irritated that 3 customers were in the store close to closing time. She made a comment about “people coming in when it’s 6 minutes to close.” She additionally said “I want to go home too”. I understand first hand not being able to leave a shift on time. However, I assume this employee is actually scheduled to a time after close (ie: store closes at 7pm, employee shift ends at 7:30pm). Needless to say, I felt ashamed that I was trying to ship my package that night. One of the other customers actually verbalized that he would come back a different day after she verbalized her irritation. To make matters worse, the cost to ship my 4.7 lb package turned out to be $43 with a delivery date 7 days later. As to not upset the FedEx staff member, I chose to complete the sale. Any other time I would have cancelled the transaction and saved my package (and money) for when the post office opened. It is very unlikely I will ever visit FedEx again.
