- Friday, March 1, 20241 out of 5Rating 1.0I went in to ship a pair of boots that I sold on Ebay. I was the second person in line when I got there and a few more people came in behind me. The employee did not know the person in front of me but spent more time talking about her upcoming wedding, the venue being at her relative's house who has a garden, etc than she did shipping his package. My wife and 2 year old daughter were waiting in the car and It was probably 20 minutes before It was my turn to be helped. When I got up to the counter the employee asked all of the people behind me what they needed help with and one helped one lady who was just dropping something off. I had brought the boots in a large box but I didn't want to ship them in that box and wanted to purchase a different box to ship them in. There was a box on the shelf that looked like the right size and I asked a few times if we could try that one and the employee kept telling me that no they wouldn't fit and kept wanting to put the large box that they were already in that I didn't want to ship in a larger box and ship that. She told me that was the best way to do it and so eventually I gave in and said okay. She again asked the person behind me what they needed and proceeded to help them print a label, get them a box and paper when she was supposed to be preparing my package. I showed her on my phone the exact address that I needed it shipped to. When she had me verify the address on the keypad there was information missing before the person receiving the packages name. I asked if we could update it and she told me that it probably didn't matter and all that was important was if the actual address was correct. I told her that because it was my first time shipping with ebay and the cost of the boots and them needing to go to an authenticator for ebay first I wanted it to go to the receiver exactly as it was written. She again told me she didn't think it mattered that much but did change part of the receiver address. Because she had me put the box that I brought inside a box she sold me, the shipping price was much more expensive than I expected or it probably needed to be, but I had spent too long in there and my wife was texting me that my 2 year old daughter in the car was getting upset so I just needed to get it sent off so I paid for it and left. As soon as I got home I noticed that there was another line, which Ebay says is critical to be included on the shipping address for them to process my payment was missing from the label. I tried calling the store several times and it would ring and ring and eventually hang up or repeat the menu. So then I tried to call the online customer assistance phone number to see if they could assist me with correcting the delivery address before the package left. I kept getting an automated call that told me that I could go online to change the delivery address of my package. So then I went online to change the delivery address but when trying to create my account received an error. So then I tried to call the customer service phone number on my receipt, but she told me that she couldn't change the delivery address unless I have an account (which I couldn't create because the site was having an issue). She told me that the only way I can change the delivery address is at the store location that I shipped the package from. I asked if she could find out if my package will be going out overnight or if I am there first thing in the morning if it will still be there. She said that she tried to check on when the package goes out but couldn't because the store is closed for the day. I paid $76.68 to ground ship a pair of boots from NC to NJ, and I cant get paid for them because the employee thought she knew best and didn't want to put the delivery address the way that I showed/asked her to, and was too concerned with her personal life, and helping everyone in the store but me to help me in the way I needed and was requesting. I will be back first thing in the morning to hopefully make the correction before it ships, but if the correction isn't made in time I will never be using FedEx or specifically this location ever again and will make sure to tell everyone if given the opportunity.
