There was a customer trying to get a document printed on the copier who was having issues. Patrice was waiting on both him and the customer in front of me at the same time. She told the customer in front of me to wait a second and then went to help the customer at the copier. She spent 10 minutes with him, then answered the phone and put that person on hold, then came back to the customer in front of me. She completed the shipping order for the customer in front of me then printed out the receipt and shipping label but then said wait a second and went back to the customer at the copier, leaving the customer in front of me waiting for her receipt. After 5 minutes of waiting, the customer told Patrice she had to go and Patrice said the copier customer had been there a long time but did get the customer in front of me’s receipt and label attached to their package. At my turn, she entered my account number and left me again to help the copier customer. After 10 minutes she finally came back and finished my transaction. She apologized for the wait and said she wasn’t chirpier because she hadn’t had lunch because there were so many customers and she couldn’t close the store for lunch. During the 30 minutes that I was there, there were only 3 customers mainly because she couldn’t determine who’s orders would be more time efficient. And I don’t really care if she’s had lunch or not. I was there to ship a package.
